PEMSoft Solutions offers an exceptional well performance program, the Well Evaluation Model (WEM), that has been tried and tested for 34 years in extensive well applications worldwide. WEM is comprised of comprehensive well component engineering technology that provides the core for our suite of integrated solutions. A variety of interrelated engineering technologies have utilized WEM as a platform from which powerful, easy to use workflows have been established, applicable to solving complex production problems. Regardless of which workflow suits your applications, we stand behind our pledge to keep our integrated suite updated to meet your changing requirements.
Our
core technology, WEM, is a classic production systems analysis (e.g. Nodal)
program used to predict well deliverability. An easy to use workflow permits
quick and easy access to advanced technology to create solutions from simple to
very complex well performance problems. Applied correctly, well performance
technology addresses a wealth of issues pertaining to the design and operation
of oil and gas wells. WEM has been utilized extensively in fields all over the
world for well design, troubleshooting and monitoring. There are many cases
where the use of WEM has resulted in doubling field production without drilling
a single well.
Perforating
guns establish communication between the formation and wellbore with
perforating tunnels characterized by penetration depth, hole size and shot
density. The Perforating Gun Performance program provides the capability of
converting vendor supplied surface gun performance data to downhole conditions,
accounting for formation strength, stress, casing/cement thickness/strength and
clearance. But the deepest or largest hole size does not necessarily define the
optimum perforating strategy. Therefore, the downhole perforating parameters
are linked to well flow predictions to transform gun performance to well
performance, the key to optimum perforating strategy. An important feature is
that common technology for calculating both downhole gun performance and well
flow predictions are used for all vendors, placing vendor comparisons on a
level playing field.
Several Artificial Lift Design
programs are available that create artificial lift designs based on well
characteristics and production objectives. The resulting lift design is linked
to well performance technology so one can analyze operating characteristics for
the proposed design, sensitize on data uncertainty and evaluate the effect of
future well conditions. Not only does this prepare you to provide adequate data
and guidelines to the artificial lift vendor, you can import the vendor’s
design and effectively evaluate the design to ensure what you install in your
well suits your objectives.
The
Forecast program uses an initial well description and reservoir
characterization to create a rate versus time prediction of the production
performance. Well performance at each time step are derived by linking to our
core WEM program wherein operating pressures are optimized to maximize
production and avoid damage to the producing system. Workover scheduling
accounts for changes in well configuration. Transient effects in the reservoir
caused by depletion are included by linking to our material balance/analytic
reservoir simulator. History matching the model to existing production data
improves the well model for post completion review and increases the accuracy
of the forecast predictions.
SAGD Program is now available. Please contact us for more information on this special program.
Design. Optimize. Analyze. This brochure describes how WEM can be used to design wells to improve performance throughout the full life cycle of a well, from design to abandonment.
